Planning - representation in my music video

Representation in my music video

The song "Is this love", initially suggests to the reader that the song is about finding a romantic kind of love. However, i have interpreted this idea to suit the theme of EDM and my initial ideas. I have chosen to use the theme of love in association with love in a friendship, travel and exploration relating to the idea of freedom and escapism.

I am making my music video 'concept based' to enable me to focus on the creative aspect of the video rather than portraying the narrative of the lyrics.

Concept based videos, are usually random clips of moving shots sequenced together in a disorderly fashion. This enhances and  the creativity of the video keeping the audience intrigued and interested. Creative music videos are usually based around certain concepts and ideas, which may or may not feature the main artist as they are not the focal point. I am going to focus on reflecting the innovative locations and setting as a posed to the artists lip syncing of the lyrics to portray this creative concept. I will represent the theme of adventure and fun through the use of setting and other aspects of mise en scene such as costume which is important in order for the audience to be able to understand the videos concept and theme.
